Who was Aunt Annie? She was the Aunt of my paternal grandmother Jessie Belle (Beaton)
Everybody called her "Aunt Annie"
When she got married she lived in North East Mabou. Her husband (Donald A Beaton) left one day and never returned. It was found out that he died out West many years later. She went to Troy where her brother John Hector lived and stayed with him for a while. After her son Donald Angus lost his wife Aunt Annie went to live with him in Boston. When Donald Angus "Danny A" died because of falling down stairs from drinking, she moved to Dartmouth to live with her son John Alex. She was in her late 60's at that time. She then would come to Mabou every summer and stay a couple of months at our place. This was in the late 30's. From that point on she lived in Dartmouth, NS. until her death on September 8, 1952. From what I've heard she was a fantastic lady.
